Ingredients
Method
Bake the cake:
- Prepare and bake the cake according to the package instructions.
- Let cool completely.
Make the cake pops:
- Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs.
- Mix with vanilla frosting until the mixture holds together.
Shape:
- Roll the mixture into small balls, place on a lined tray, and freeze for 15–20 minutes until firm.
Coat:
- Melt the pink candy melts.
- Dip a cake pop stick into the candy and insert into each cake ball.
- Dip the cake pops into the melted candy and let excess drip off.
Decorate and set:
- Add sprinkles while the coating is wet.
- Place upright in a stand and let set at room temperature or in the fridge.
Serve:
- Enjoy once fully set.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
Notes
- Let the cake cool completely: A warm cake will turn the mixture greasy and make the cake pops hard to shape.
- Don’t add too much frosting: Add just enough for the crumbs to hold together. Too much frosting makes the cake pops soft and unstable.
- Melt the candy slowly: Heat the candy melts gently to avoid burning and keep the coating smooth and easy to dip.
